ButterFlight is a new game adding high resolution graphics, enhanced sound effects and music.
You are the Lord of the Butterflies. An evil witch has imposed spell on you and you lost your wings. To weave the new wings you have to collect a great number of different butterflies. Your little friends wanted to help you, but to make sure that you are really their lord, the butterflies decided to put you to the test. You should do all your best to win their confidence. The family of your courtiers, who believe in you, will help you to make up the combination from any type of the butterflies.

SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS

"ButterFlight" works on the systems based on PalmOS 4.0 and later platforms that support screen resolution 320x320 and 65000 colors: Sony Clie PEG-SJ30, PEG-T665C, PEG-T650C, PEG-NR70, PEG-NR70V, PEG-T600C, PEG-T615C, PEG-T625C, PEG-N770C, PEG-N760C, PEG-N750C, PEG-N610C, PEG-NZ90, PEG-NX70V, PEG-NX60.

This game works also under PalmOS 5.0 and later: Palm Tungsten E, Tungsten C, Tungsten T, Tungsten T2, Tungsten T3, Zire 71 and others coming in the near future.

INTRODUCTION

You play on the glade that is filled with the multicolored butterflies. At every round, you have to collect a certain number of butterflies of a particular color on the glade. You can flip and rotate the butterflies sitting there - try to bring those of the same color together. They will fly away, freeing the place that will be filled with the new butterflies. The move is only possible if the result of it is the good combination, that is some butterflies will fly away from the field.
The type of the butterflies you have to collect, as well as their number, is indicated in the top-left corner. You can also see the number of possible moves there. You may use the Auto button to make the computer play the next good move - but you should get no points for it.

DOWNLOADING

To download "ButterFlight", use the standard Palm DeskTop HotSync process or equivalent to install ButterFlight.prc on your device.

Attention! For a perfect work of the game please install: for Sony Clie - ButterFlightClie.prc, for PalmOS 5 - ButterFlightOS5.prc.

PLAYING THE GAME

You can play "ButterFlight" in four different modes: PAIRS, TWINS, QUADS or TRIADS. Each mode contains four skill levels: EASYRIDE, NOVICE, EXPERT and MASTER. Watching Demo will help you to understand the rules of every game.

PAIRS and TWINS
In Pairs and Twins, you can interchange 2 neighboring butterflies, you should collect a straight line of three or more similar butterflies, to make them fly.

QUADS and TRIADS
In Quads and Triads, you can rotate groups of four or three butterflies respectively. The direction of rotation is chosen automatically. If rotation may be performed in both directions (clockwise or anticlockwise) the arrows that allow choosing the direction, appear at the bottom of the playing field. If you manage to collect four or more butterflies of the same type together (not necessarily in one row) they will fly.

Splash screen

Window "Pick Game"

You can call Pick Game right from the game, clicking the PickGame button in "Menu" window. It also appears at first launching of the game. In this window you can change the game type. Here you can select the game type and skill level.

Window "Menu"

You can call Menu right from the game, clicking the button Menu on your device. It also appears at launching of the game.

CONTINUE - appears if you have an unfinished game
NEW GAME - launches new game. Attention! If the game is not finished it will be interrupted without any warning. Be careful not to lose your game. Also, there is option AUTORUN for game (see below)
PICK GAME - games and skill levels list to choose
OPTIONS - game options
DEMO - launch game in demonstration mode
HELP - here you can receive short help and information about us
TOP 10 - here your best results, which you can publish on the net, are stored
BUY ME - information how to register the game (*)
REGISTER - the form for entering the registration info (*)
EXIT - to quit the game (you can quit the game clicking the button applications from any window of the program)

(*) - these items will be removed from the Menu after registration

Attention! All windows except the main one are dialogs. You can leave them using buttons OK - and CANCEL - .

Window "Effects"

There is a possibility of slow run on 33 MHz processor devices. For run acceleration, you can set up as low or turn off graphics effects.

INTERFACE EFFECTS - here you can enable or disable the iterface effects.
GAME EFFECTS - here you can enable or disable the game effects.
FLYING BUTTERFLIES - You can disable flying butterflies if you are bored with them

Also you can change effects in the "OPTIONS" window. This window will appear every start of the game. To turn off this window, set up flag DO NOT SHOW AGAIN. You can to turn on it again in "OPTIONS" window.

Window "Options"

You can set up your preferences in the window "OPTIONS". To change the option's value, just click the appropriate option name

SOUND - here you can enable or disable the sound
MUSIC - here you can enable or disable the background music(**)
VOLUME - here you can tune the sound volume (low, medium, high)
INTERFACE EFFECTS - here you can change the interface effects (off, on).
GAME EFFECTS - here you can change the game effects (off, on).
EFFECTS REMINDER - turn on/turn off appearing of effects window on the every start of the game.
AUTORUN - the option that allows you to start the game without the splash screen and menu (after the program launching you go directly to the playing field) (*)

(*) - these options are active in the registered version of the game. (**) - these options are available on the SONY CLIE devices only.

Window "TOP 10"

You can look at best game results in this window.

PAIRS / TWINS / QUADS / TRIOS - this button displays the results for different game types
EASYRIDE / NOVICE / EXPERT / MASTER - this button displays the results for different skill levels
PUBLISH - this button opens the window with the code for publishing the best result on the Web

Window "Help"

To see the next page in the help you can tap 'NEXT' button or press PageDown/JogDown key.
To see the previous page in the help you can tap 'PREV' button or press PageUp/JogUp key.

REGISTRATION

This game is shareware. If you want to play it after the two-week trial period, please register it.

After the registration:

The reminder window "BUY ME" will not nag you any more.

Registered users have the following advantages:

to choose the game level (expert or master)
to launch the game in autorun mode (without splash screen or menu displaying)
to preserve the running game when you quit the program
to keep the points in the table of top scores

Window "BUY ME"
It contains the information about where and how you can register the game. This window appears also as the reminder in the course of the game, with growing frequency.

Window "REGISTER"

Enter your license information into the form: fill First and Last names into the first and second lines, respectively, and the license code into the last one. Two NAME fields has room for 12 characters each, including spaces; if your name, or surname, is longer just stop when no room is left, the registration code will still work. Using the virtual keyboard or digitizer, you can enter letters, digits, a period, a dash, a space and a commercial at. You can choose the line tapping it with the stylus, the cursor (a blinking dash) will show the line where you are now. Also you can switch between edit lines by pressing PageUp/PageDown keys or JogUp/JogDown. When you begin typing, the prompts (FIRST/LAST NAME, REG CODE) will disappear.
Typing is done by means of the virtual keyboard, where the special buttons mean:

BSP - backspace (deletes of the symbol before the cursor)
CLR - deletes the whole line
SPACE - space symbol
