1. About Friendly Alarm
This hack makes scheduled alarms friendlier. No more unwanted alerts and missed morning alarms. Hack catches all alerts, showed inside alarm handlers and convert them to the subtle attentions, so no alarm are missed.
Remember frequent situation: there are no free space on card. Backup program wakes at 3:00AM, tries to make backup, fails and show alert dialog. PalmOS don't call next alarm until previous alarm complete its job. So, waking at the morning (too late! why?) you find failed backup (it's your fault) and missed morning alarm (it's PalmOS feature ;-(.
2. Using Friendly Alarm
Installing FriendlyAlarm hack you can avoid such troubles. FriendlyAlarm traps alert calls inside alarm handlers and send them to Attention Manager. Now you see sparkling star in top left corner. When you tap on star, you can see list of missed alerts and other notifications. Select checkboxes near messages to dismiss them. If alert text doesn't fit into reminders form, you can call complete text by clicking on message.
Additionally: this application remove nasty "Turn beam on" alert.
3. Important notes:
- Hack doesn't change behavior of usual forms.
- Hack doesn't change behavior of fatal alert forms (use 'Crash' hack)
- Hack emulates pressing default button in alert form.
4. Requirements
Any device with PalmOS 4.x-5.x and Hack Manager. You can use any hack manager for PalmOS 4.x and YAHM for PalmOS 5.x
5. Installation
Download hack from http://yahm.palmoid.com/fralarm.zip. Unzip FrAlarm.prc from archive and install it on device. Activate hack from your favorite hack manager. YAHM - Yet Another Hack Manager is required for launching hack under PalmOS 5. Don't try to run FriendlyAlarm with TealMaster under PalmOS5. Please read article "Hacks on PalmOS 5" by Daniel Seifert about differences in using YAHM and TealMaster under PalmOS 5.
6. Uninstallation
Deactivate hack from hack manager and delete it. Note: dismiss all notifications before uninstallation! Else you can crash your device.7. Disclaimer
