I. INTRODUCTION.

The maCLOCK is a simple and useful multifunctional digital alarm-clock program.
Version 1.8 incorporates the following features:

II. INSTALLATION.

  To install maCLOCK you need Palm™ handheld computer with Palm OS™ version 2.x or higher. Application requires about 500 K-bytes of memory to be free before installation.

  1. Extract last version of program from maClock.zip archive with -D option by any compatible unzip utility.
  2. Remove previous version of program from the handheld.
  3. Use installation tool to transfer maClock.prc file from desktop computer to the Palm organizer.
  4. After successful installation you will see the icon on the PalmOS™ handheld screen.
  5. Enter registration code to complete installation.

III. USAGE.

Once maCLOCK has been installed tap on its icon to launch it. If you have an unregistered copy an information screen displayed every time you set an alarm and "UNREGISTERED" message appears in the bottom of the main screen.

You may switch between internet time, timer, calendar and earth map by menu or by shortcuts.

PREFERENCES:

In this dialog window you may set maClock preferences which may help you to manage alarm time.

  • Snooze time: ‹n› minutes.
    Select the time after an alarm is repeated.
    The time after you press "SNOOZE" button or when auto snooze option is enabled. Available values are: 1, 2, 3, 5, 7, 10, 15, 30.

  • Enable auto snooze alarm.
    If checked, automatically snooze selected number of times. (15 times by default). Available values are: 2, 5, 7, 10, 15, 30, 45, 50.
    You may set battery power level at which autosnooze will stop.

  • BackLight on start up.
    If checked, the backlight will be activated at program start.

  • Disable device auto-off.
    If checked, device will never be automatically turned off.
    It is useful when use maCLOCK as desk clock.

  • Display font.
    Select the font for digits to display. There are four fonts available in the dialog window: TIMES, EURO, GLASTEN, JEFFERSON.

  • Display time at power ON.
    Displays time when handheld powered ON. There is a position where locate the time window and duration of seconds in the dialog.

INTERNET TIME:

Internet Time (Figure N: 4) is a new way to measure time, it is measured in 'Beats'. One Beat equals 86.4 seconds, 1000 Beats equal one day (24 hours).
The reference point for the Internet Time is Biel Mean Time (BMT). Biel is the city in Switzerland where the Swatch headquarter is located. At 00:00 BMT (Central European Wintertime ) the Internet Time is 000 Beats.
maClock calculates the Internet Time out of the local time your palm device is set to. For the correct Internet Time to be displayed you have to enter information about your local timezone (go to Timezone settings ).


To check if the Internet Time shown is correct, visit the Internet Clock on Swatch® www.swatch.com web site.

TIMER:

Timer allow to measure elapsed time. The range of the timer is 99 hours, 59 minutes and 59 seconds. You may select timer function via "Timer" menu.

Here are five buttons:

  • Start - Start or restart counting of time.

  • Stop - Stop count. Use Start button to continue.

  • Reset - Stop and set timer to the value 00:00:00.

  • Split - Split counting. It freezes screen but timer continues to count.

  • Release - Unfreeze timer screen after Split.

CALENDAR AND EARTH MAP:

It shows (Figure N: 6) calendar on the current month and earth map illuminated by the sun. To select it use "Calendar and Earth Map" menu.

SYSTEM ALARMS TABLE:

This window (Figure N: 7) displays queue of system alarms table. It shows time and date of alarm and application which initiated it.
To display it select "System alarms table" menu or tap on clock image in the right down corner of the main screen.

IV. ALARMS.

There are three independent programmable alarms in the maCLOCK. To set an alarm tap alarm's set button at the bottom of the main screen:

V. REGISTRATION.

The maCLOCK application for PalmOS™ is distributed as shareware. You can use this application with all features for a trial period of 14 days. The application do not expire but if you continue using it and you are satisfied then you have to register. Registered version has no any shareware reminders. All next versions, updates and bugfixes are free for registered users only. Register maCLOCK today!

After receiving the registration key from author do the following:
  • Start maCLOCK on your Palm™ Connected organizer.
  • Choose "REGISTRATION" from the "HELP" menu. Registration window will be opened (Figure N: 9).
  • Enter registration key to the "Reg.Code:" field carefully.
  • Press "OK" button to finish registration process. If registration code is accepted you will hear short melody and then registration window is closed. If not, the warning message will appear. Make sure that you have entered registration code correct.
Thank you for registration. Now you are registered user.
