Introduction
SnakeByte is a classic game for
everybody.
Beiks Ltd. is proud to present a Pilot port of
the most popular Apple ][ version. We hope we did a good job and you
would enjoy it - hopefully at least as much as we did not so long ago.
Rules
Player controls the snake movement and must eat
the apples in the screen. You must avoid anything that is not an apple
- that is, including the snake's own tail. No crashes allowed.
The more apples you eat, the longer your tail gets. Obviously, there
is a limited free space on the playing field, so you have to:
- avoid borders, flies and your own tail;
- eat all the apples on the screen before your time is up (the two
side lines hit the top);
- eat as much apples as you can (to get higher score);
- escape to the next level at some point (whenever possible);
- play as long as you can;
Scoring
Generally, you get points for every apple. There
are some additional rules, though, that will make it more interesting
if you are a hardcode gamer (and our experience shows most Snake
players are): if you pass a level without a crash you will
get bonus. The more levels you pass without losing life, the
higher the bonus will be. Scoring also depends on the game
difficulty, so you may want to play "Hard" with two flies if
you are set for world record...
Controls:
You can guide the snake by
pen or with the hardware buttons. In the first case, use the square at
the top right corner of the screen. Or you can use Palm buttons. First
select the numbers of the buttons you like from Menu / Options / Two
Buttons or Four Buttons. In the first option use the
following:
- All left turns - Contacts button
- All right turns
- To-Do button
If you choose 4 Buttons, use the
following:
- Go Left - Contacts
button
- Go Right - To-Do
button
- Go Up - Page
Up button
- Go Down - Page
Down button
- Pause - Calendar button
- Resume pause/New Game - Memo
Pad button
Purchasing
The full version contains 23 levels. It can be
purchased for only $10 on our website,
PilotGear H.Q. or Handango.
We will need your Pilot User Name (sometimes referred as HotsyncID) in
order to give you properly working copy of the game.
