Introduction
 Odometer Recorder for Pocket PC is a tool that lets you to record the number of kilometers/miles driven by your car. But, Odometer Recorder is not just a car mileage tracker or mileage calculator only. This Pocket PC software can offer you extra value when it comes to your tax declaration. If you have a company provided vehicle, Odometer Recorder can help you distinguish between business and personal mileage. This is very important because personal use of a company provided vehicle is seen as a taxable fringe benefit. The unspoken goal of Odometer Recorder is to assist you with tax planning and tax preparation rather than simply to record mileage statistics.


Installation
 To install Odometer Recorder Demo on Pocket PC:
  • Double click the file odomdemp.zip to start the WinZip program.
  • Specify the directory to deposit the installation files into and press the unzip button.
  • Close WinZip program.
  • In the directory where you deposited the installation files, you should find the following files:
  • Place your Pocket PC in its cradle.
  • Make sure your Pocket PC is connected to your Desktop PC via the Microsoft ActiveSync program.
  • In the directory where you deposited the installation files, double click Setup.exe
  • The ActiveSync Application Manager will take over and complete installation.
After successful installation you'll find Odometer Recorder Demo program in the Programs folder of your Pocket PC.


Navigating within Odometer Recorder for PocketPC
 Odometer Recorder displays on the main view a list of you registered kilometres/miles driven records. If you don't have any registration, the list is empty. The records list displays record date, record category, and registered mileage. Records are ordered by date. Tap on column Date in order to sort records.
There are two menu groups available on the main view: Mileage en Tools.
Mileage:
  • New... - Enter new mileage record
  • Undo Deleting - Recover recent deleted record (Undo)
  • Mileage Book... - Adding, Editing, and Deleting records in Mileage Book
  • Mileage Report... - View and export statistics
  • Exit - Close Odometer Recorder program
Tools:
  • Edit Categories... - Add or edit categories
  • Delete by Range of Dates... - Delete records within range of dates
  • Empty Undo Mileage records - Discard previously deleted records from recovering
  • Export Mileage records... - Export records in file
  • View Options... - View options for main view of Odometer Recorder
  • About - General information about KOLYA Odometer Recorder
Finally, you can get help at any time simply by tapping the Help command on the Start menu of your Pocket PC. When Odometer Recorder is visible on the Pocket PC screen, Help will display details and hints on how to use your Odometer Recorder.
