Main Form
After running Money Manager you
will see the Main Screen.
This
is the form where you work with records.
There are three columns in the list:
- The first column shows the
Date of the
record
- The second column displays
the
Description
or Type of the record. You can switch
between
them by taping and holding the toolbar label.
- The third column shows the
Amount of a record. You can change its color of
displayed amount in the program's preferences.
The total balance for all records
matching the current filter is shown at the bottom of the screen.
Filters
You can filter your database
so that only records you are interested in appear:
- Tap the popup in the
upper-right corner of the screen to set the Category filter.
- Tap the popup at the
bottom of the screen to view all records whose date
is within a specific range.
Sorting
Use toolbar labels to sort the grid. Simply tap on
the label you are interested in, and it will
sort your database by the label value. If you want to change the
order tap on the same label again.
Expenses and Income
To add a record use the New
button at the bottom of the main form. To edit an existing
record just tap on it on the main grid. In both cases you will
see the Edit Form.
Select
Pay if your record is an expense or Receive when
it is an income.
Choose a Date, Type, Category and
Payment using popup menus.
Enter a Description and an Amount. You can do it
either by simply entering the values using the graffiti area/keyboard, or
using the popup menu (tap on 'Desc:') to enter your Description and
the built-in calculator (tap on the calculator icon) to enter
your Amount.
You can't save a record with empty Amount field.
Mileage
To enter Mileage, select
Mileage Name from the Types list. The Amount label
will change to Distance. You should also see a little Road
Icon next to the Calculator Icon. Now you have to enter a
distance. The program will automatically count your amount, for
example:
100 miles *
0.345 unit rate = 34.5
Use Menu>Options>Mileage
Setup from the Main Form to setup the Mileage.

You can change
Type Name, Units and Per Unit Rate. You can
also check Show distance if you want to see the distance
in the
Description column on the Main Form.
Annual Chart
You can view all
records from a particular year presented on a chart. Use
Menu>Records>Annual Chart from the Main Form.

Now you can filter
the database using popup menus. Change the Category using
the popup menu in the upper right corner of the screen, change
the Type using the one at the bottom of the screen. To see the value of
any
bar on the chart simply tap on it.
Reports
You can see
simple, but very useful reports. Choose Menu>Records>Reports
from the Main Form.

This form gives
you summaries of entries by different criterion: by Category
by Type, by Payment, by Date (total records
in one day). You can use the second popup to set the period filter.
