Pocket PC
- Windows Mobile 2003, Windows Mobile 2003 SE, Windows Mobile 5.0 for Pocket
PC, or Windows Mobile 6.x (Classic or Professional)
- Storage requirement: 1.6 MB
Desktop PC
- Windows XP (Home or Professional) with
SP2, or Windows Vista
- Administrative privilege required for installation
- Intel or AMD processor 500Mhz or faster
- 192 MB RAM or more (512 MB recommended)
- Internet Explorer 6.0 SP1 or later
- Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0
- SQL Server 2005 Compact Edition (included in setup)

ActiveSync Provider Requirements
- Windows Mobile 2003 or Windows Mobile 2003 SE, or Windows Mobile 5.0 for
Pocket PC, or Windows Mobile 6 (Classic or Professional)
- Storage requirement: 60 KB
- Backup your data. Go to Menu->Data->Create Backup...
to create a full backup. After backup is completed, type ctrl+q on the keyboard
input panel to exit Pocket PC TimeBiller. Backup can also be created using Desktop
TimeBiller. Select Tools->Backup->Create to create a backup file.
- Dock your Pocket PC and make sure ActiveSync has connected to it successfully.
- Run Desktop TimeBiller setup program. Note the filename differences for
different versions.
- TimeBillerPackFull.exe for full version
- TimeBillerPackFulls.exe for full version downloaded from our site
- TimeBillerPackDemo.exe for demo version
- If some required components are not present, Setup will install them automatically.
- Click Next to begin installation. Follow the on-screen instructions.
- If you plan to use a non-administrative account to run Desktop TimeBiller,
please select Use another user ID and enter your desired Windows user ID on
the database location selection page.
- If your selection is not Desktop TimeBiller Only, the ActiveSync provider
will be installed on both desktop and Pocket PC. Do not install ActiveSync provider
on memory card. It will not work.
- Follow the instructions to complete the installation.
- On Windows Vista, disconnect and connect the Pocket PC again to ensure smooth
synchronization.
- In certain situation, you may need to manually enable TimeBiller
Expense synchronization. To enable it, click Mobile Device Settings->Change
content sync settings (Windows Mobile Device Centre) or Tools->Options
(ActiveSync), and check TimeBiller Expense. Click Save to save the settings.
Unfortunately, Windows 98, 98 SE, ME, Windows NT, and Windows 2000 are not supported.
Before you install the ActiveSync provider, please make a backup of your data
using Tools->Backup->Create... in Pocket PC version of TimeBiller. After you installed
Desktop TimeBiller and ActiveSync provider for the first time, please remove your
Pocket PC from the dock. Once disconnected, dock your Pocket PC to begin synchronization.
ActiveSync will automatically enable the provider to synchronize TimeBiller data.
Depending on the volume of data, it may take a few minutes to complete synchronization.
- Open Control Panel.
- Double click on Add/Remove Programs (XP) or Programs and Features
(Vista).
- From the list of installed applications, select Desktop TimeBiller and click
Change/Remove. This will also remove TimeBiller ActiveSync provider.
- Follow the prompts to uninstall Desktop TimeBiller.
- Select TimeBiller ActiveSync Provider Support and click Remove (XP) or
Uninstall (Vista).
- Select Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Compact Edition.
- Click Remove (XP) or Uninstall (Vista).
- Disconnect the Pocket PC from the desktop PC if connected.
- On the Pocket PC, tap Start Menu->Settings->System tab->Remove Programs
icon.
- Select "Fann Software TimeBiller ActiveSync..." and tap Remove.
- On the desktop PC, close all ActiveSync (XP) or Windows Mobile Device
Centre (Vista) windows.
- Open Start Menu->Control Panel.
- Double click on Add/Remove Programs (XP) or Programs and Features
(Vista).
- From the list of installed applications, select TimeBiller Pack 3.0 and click
Remove (XP) or Uninstall (Vista). This will also remove the desktop-side TimeBiller ActiveSync provider
and TimeBiller ActiveSync Provider Support.
- Follow the prompts to uninstall TimeBiller Pack.
- Connect the Pocket PC to the desktop PC.
- Once the system has completed the restore process, install TimeBiller
Pack version 2.8.
If you setup the partnership to synchronize with Exchange Server and you are
using Windows Mobile Device Centre (WMDC) 6.1 on Windows Vista, you will
encounter a hanging problem. This problem is due to a bug in WMDC version 6.1.
Please follow these steps to workaround the problem:
- Backup all your data on the Pocket PC.
- Delete the partnership.

Download Windows Mobile Device Centre 6.0 from Microsoft.
- Uninstall Windows Mobile Device Center 6.1. You may need to reboot
the computer.
- Install Windows Mobile Device Center 6.0.
- Setup a new partnership.
- Enable TimeBiller synchronization.
